Obama belongs to the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party is considered a liberal party,  they are willing to reduce the welfare state, they believe that market capitalism is the only economic system that generates growth and prosperity, they  think the state should intervene to reduce social imbalances, thay want better income distribution and to ensure equal opportunities.

MITT

Mitt belongs to the Republican Party. The Republican Party of the United States is one of the two major political parties in the United States, advocate of the  free-market  and enemy of state intervention. the Republican Party was seen as a party "progressive".
